Abstrakt

In the article, using the example of the scientific, research, and archaeological work of the National Reserve “Hetman’s Capital”, the research directions of the outstanding Ukrainian hetman Pylyp Orlyk are revealed. Pylyp Orlyk was an outstanding statesman and politician, general scribe, hetman in exile, author of the 'Treaties and Regulations on the Rights and Freedoms of the Zaporizhzhya Army', the author of the only surviving hetman’s diary 'Darius of the Traveler'. He formed his political views in the Hetman’s Baturin during his work in the government of Ivan Mazepa. The article systematizes and presents newly discovered information on the topic of Pylyp Orlyk and his family, which includes archaeological and archival research, as well as the international activities of the reserve. The above archival documents shed light on separate pages of the history of the life and activities of the Orlyk family, both in Ukraine and abroad.
